Colby Simms is a licensed and well known, professional multi-species guide, a highly accomplished, sponsored tournament angler, national television personality, outdoor sports writer & photo journalist, a tackle designer, outdoor sports promoter & speaker.

Colby has hosted, co-hosted, and made guest star appearances on many different national television programs with some reaching over 60 million households. Colby is a PMTT Tournament Champion, & World Championship Qualifier, a 2-Time IMTT Tournament Champion, State Champion, 3-Time State Championship Qualifier & 7-Time Top 10 Finisher. Colby is one of the Midwest's top guides and started what has now become the largest guide operation in the southern Illinois & eastern Missouri region. Colby’s work has been published in more than 2 dozen different magazines & newspapers, many with national or international distribution. He currently holds staff positions with more than a half dozen magazines, and works with more than a dozen others on a regular basis. He has also been featured in many articles by other outdoor writers. Colby is also an outdoor product designer and tester and has held staff positions with nearly 2 dozen major companies. He started the Simms Sport Fishing Tackle Company and currently holds positions with more than a half dozen other major outdoor sports product manufacturing companies. Colby travels inside & outside of North America on writing assignments & sponsorship promotions, but specializes in muskie, bass and crappie fishing at his home water, southern Illinois’ beautiful Kinkaid Lake.
